Catherine’s Kindergarten & Hostel Update

In 2016, after a chance meeting with Prakash Bista, a young Nepalese man who shared with me his plans to build ten schools in the mountains of Western Nepal, I raised funds to build one school in his remote village of Lalu in memory of my daughter Catherine. Later that year, I traveled to the village to choose the site for the school. In December 2017, I returned to Lalu to officially open the Catherine Kindergarten and Hostel. Thank you to everyone who donated, helping make my dream a reality. A special thanks to Nicky Page who generously donated funds to build the hostel.

Below is a note from Prakash, President of Impact Schools which includes the Catherine Kindergarten:

We have so far built nine buildings in a number of villages in Western Nepal. The villages are so remote that they still lack access to basic infrastructures like roads, electricity and running water. Besides regular students at our 3 schools, 21 students including 13 orphans and children from disadvantaged backgrounds are receiving an education as well as room and board at our hostel facility. We are currently building more infrastructure so that we can serve more students. Please consider donating; you will be able to directly impact the most vulnerable children in Western Nepal. Thank you to those who have given their support.
